I get stuck in Genesis 5 because of the wonder of the message of salvation. In the Hebrew root meanings of each name, we read:

| Mahalalel | The Blessed God |
| Jared | Shall come down |
| Enoch | Teaching |
| Methuselah | His death shall bring |

| Noah | Comfort, Rest |
This is the Prophecy of the Gospel before Noah’s flood.
